A truely lovely 19th Century French Louis XV Style Inlaid Marble Top Abattant Secretaire made from Amaranth, Tulipwood and Kingwood.
The secretaire features a beautiful shaped brèche violette marble top over a bombé form case inlaid with birds within in floral sprays, a fall-front opening to a tan leather writing surface. With shelves, six shaped small drawers and concealing a coffre fort, above two doors conformingly inlaid, enclosing a fitted interior.
The angles with roccoco clasps, above a shaped apron centred by a pierced foliate cartouche, on short conformingly-mounted cabriole legs.
Beautiful form and lines with bronze ormolu mounted decorations including original key.
